- Egg yolks: 6 large
- Heavy cream: 1 quart
- Hot water: 2 quarts
- Vanilla sugar: 1 cup (divided into half for separate use)
- Vanilla bean: 1 (split and scraped)
Procedure
To make the best crème Brulee recipe, it should be made Bain-Maire. Bain-Marie is a form of heated bath where the cream does not burn and keeps the recipe soft and fluffy on the inside. The secret to making this dessert to perfection is to provide gentle heat to the ingredients and warm them over a certain period of time.
Making it in the oven is also an easy way to make crème Brulee. However, the method remains the same. The Bain-Marie effect should stay. We will tell you how.
Let’s start with the Crème Brulee recipe:
- Heat the oven priorly to 325°F.
- Take a medium saucepan.
- Bring the cream, vanilla bean, and pulp to a boil in a saucepan.
- When it reaches a boil, remove from the heat and set aside for 15 minutes.
- Remove the vanilla beans and save them for another use in the same recipe.
- In a separate dish, mix together the sugar and egg yolks until thoroughly combined. The mixture will begin to turn light in color as soon as they combine well.
- Add cream at this point and keep stirring while doing so.
- Pour this mixture into ramekins- an excellent bowl for making crème Brulee.
- In a large tray, add water and place the filled ramekins into that tray.
- Please note that water should be enough to reach half the sides of these ramekins.
- Put this tray into the preheated oven and bake it until 40-45 minutes.
- You should keep an eye on that crème Brulee is set but still shuddering in the center.
- As we mentioned, it tastes dreamily well when it is chilled. Keep the baked crème Brulee in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours.
- They could be kept in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- Before serving, take them out 30 minutes beforehand.

- Place the divided vanilla sugar on top so that each ramekin is covere equally on top.
- Using that fiery butane torch for melting the sugar on top, give it a burnt, crusty look.
- When it’s done, let it sit for another 5 minutes to cool down a bit. Then it is ready to serve and impress!
